I wrote a fairly long reply to someone's post, about the orange one, but after postingk I could not find it anywhere . VERY aggravating, so I guess I didnt save it properly? Don't know. Just couldn't re write it.

It’s not exactly intuitive. I’ve had that happen.

hi, sorry I’ve been out of touch. You’ve been very kind to take the time to explain things for me. I’ve been trying to finish the memoir constant interruptions slow it down. I’m just about done, this week should do it and then it goes to some “readers“. Not exactly editors but close then I have to hire a team to format, design and publish it. So I’ve been a hermit for a while. I hope all is well with you and I appreciate being in touch with you.

A very belated happy new year!

That was a long time ago 😊. I hope I have a happy now slightly old year. It all hinges on a judgement which is taking an eternity.

thank you for letting me know I’m not the only one here who can’t get this right. Is there a place you’re aware of we can go for instructions? Or have you figured it out and could you explain it to me if you have the time? Just starting to work with this.

May I ask you another question as long as you’re here… I appreciate your signing up here even though I have not offered much yet.

I lived in Japan for 42 years and became a famous artist, documenting the traditional Japanese worlds of sumo and kabuki.

I was thinking, to start with I would post vignettes from my upcoming memoir, which is a kind of collection of my artwork with stories that relate to that image in each chapter. May I ask you, if you think that would be OK, or interesting enough to post on Substack? you don’t have to be a Japanofile or even an art collector to appreciate this. It’s a human story as well. A story of… As my son pointed out, I would not have thought of this

myself, a young woman, at that time who went to Japan for a six month assignment, on her own, discovered a world she wanted to work with and stayed on against all kinds of odds and prejudice.

May I ask what you think about this?

I appreciate any input, good, bad, or indifferent!

thank you, Lynn

I know your background. I googled you. 😊 what I am doing is subscribing to every person who interacts with me. I get about 1 in 5 reciprocations. My material is significantly more abstruse than yours but people look at it. My impression is that the users are skewed towards older people. They will be more inclined to look at yours than the young.

Just start posting. You’ll see that the final process is to project. First and foremost uses Notes. Repeat on Notes. Linked in if you have it and Instagram. Ask people who seem keen to restack, meaning refer on to their subscribers. I’ll do that.

My posts I know are too long but I have a different motive to you. Keep the words under 1,000 if you can. Not a haiku but not an encyclopedia 😊

Don’t think about it, just do it. Be Fortinbras not Hamlet. Experiment. Persevere. It’ll take time but what you have is worthwhile.

DRATS... AGAIN I wrote a reply and it disappeared! I don't know what goes on with this thing! I have to get back into my work, can't rewrite this again. Thank you so much for your suggestions and encouragement. I'm not quite sure what you mean by being Fortinbras, not Hamlet -I don't remember the story. Maybe I can hit up one of my actor friends and they can explain. Have a good night! Lynn

There are four icons at the foot of the screen. Activity, chat, notes and the main one. If it is not on one of those I suspect you deleted it in error.
